This book contain 20 chapter with 403 question with five statements (2015 statements of True or False) plus a mock exam of 60 question (300 statement of True and False). It is truly a good exercise and challenge to all MRCPCH candidates or any one who is taking part in paediatrics MCQs exams

It is my third book for candidates who are preparing for MRCPCH part 1 and II which was published in 2001 and sold more than 10,000 copies worldwide. It covered both basic and clinical paediatric medicine including statistic. It is also contain a mock exam at the end of it to test candidates knowledge.

It is challenging when I starting writing this book as I have done before and I said to my colleagues “ MCQs has no ends”. It is true and approaching any MCQs questions is different while you are studying or taking part in exams. It is advisable to go over the question first time, then chose the answer on second reading and then move to next question. When you finish the page or the exam, go over them quickly again and try to answer the one not been answered but do not change your first answer as most likely your 80% right.

This book has been written for candidates preparing for the MRCPCH Part I examination. It is meant to be com-plementary to Nagi &reliefs first book MCQs in Paedia-trics for MRCP Port I. The book starts with a short introduction to the ex-amination itself and tips on solving the MCQs.This is fol-lowed by 400 questions sorted by topic and then the section with answers. Finally, there are 60 mock exam questions. The chapters provide a wide variety of topics and most of the questions are dirical. though questions on basic sciences included in the relevant chapters give a more balanced experience. Each topic has around 20 questions on the pathophysiology. diagnosis and manage-ment of the clinical conditions most commonly asked about in the examinations. I felt that some of the questions looked deeper into medical conditions than would be expected for the stan-dard of the examination Yet again.

some answers have only a very short explanation, if at all.Topics like Derma-tology or Paediatric Emergencies and Resuscitation. which have only a few questions in the examination. would seem to be given equal weighting in the number of questions as Cardiology. Respiratory and Infectious diseases which obviously carry more marks in die exam-ination paper. To get the most out of this book. I would recommend that candidates sitting the examination for the first time. go through the questions after they have acquired a rea-sonable background knowledge. A standard textbook should compliment the answers which are felt to be in-adequate. All in all. I think this book is extremely useful in prepar-ing for the examination and it should give the candidate that extra bit of knowledge and confidence required to pass. Solving the mock examination questions at the end is indeed helpful in assessing one’s performance in a real-exam-situation. A score of 80% in these questions. I feel, gives a decent chance of passing the actual MRCPCH Part I.

This is one of the books I used. I passed the exam first time, but I can’t remember if this particular book was any good.
